New Imation CD-R Combines Design with Reliability

Singapore (March 4, 2004) - Imation Singapore, the head office of Imation South Asia and subsidiary of Imation Corp (NYSE: IMN), today announced a new series of pre-designed thematic CD-R in Singapore. Imation, the worldwide leader in removable data storage media and world number 1 leader in CD-R market share (Santa Clara Consulting Group 2003), has introduced 16 colorful, creative and varied designs under 3 different themes; Animals, Dolls and Beautiful Scenes, to suit users of all ages.

Imation delivers both form and function with these new thematic CD; “Grade A” quality CD-R, that can store up to 700MB or 80 minutes of data, in unique and attractive designs.

“Data is priceless, but with the wide spectrum of CD available in the market, quality can be inconsistent. Imation is known for its reliability and now, beyond the reliability, users can own a CD with a personal touch – a design which they can identify with and call their own,” said Nancy Tan, Managing Director, Imation South Asia.

For animal lovers, the “animal series” offers 6 different creatures; a monkey, a baby elephant, a penguin, a mouse, a dog and a snake, all set in bright and cheerful colors.

The “doll series” tells a family story, comprising of characters from a family of dolls; each CD depicts a joyful family moment, and presents one key character of baby, sister, daddy, mummy, grandpa or grandma doll.

Snowy mountains, wooden pier on a lake, trees in winter settings, yachts resting at a waterfront, these are some of the outdoor nature scenes on the CD of the “beautiful scenes series”, appealing to travel and nature lovers.

The thematic CD-R from Imation are available now in all major IT and stationery stores, while stocks last. Suggested retail price (SRP) is $15.90 (25-piece spindle) and $22.90 (50-piece bulk).

General public can view the new designs in the web site www.imation-southasia.com/thematic, and stand a chance to win attractive prizes when they vote for their favorite design. No purchase is required, just log on to the web site, and select a favorite design from the existing 16 designs available. 50 prizes worth over $1,000 are to be given away to winners in a lucky draw. Survey ends April 30, 2004.

IT Show
The Thematic CDs will be on sale at IT Show 2004, from 11 to 14 March 2004, in Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre (Suntec City), Exhibition Halls 401 – 404, Level 4, from participating retailers. With every purchase of a 25-piece spindle or a 50-piece bulk, customers will get a 48x Digital Audio Music CD-R for free. Customers who buy any of these drives - 8x Internal DVD Burner (SRP$259), 24x24x24x8 CD-RW Slim Combo Drive (SRP$239) and 52x32x52 External CD-RW (USB 2.0) (SRP S$149), they will get a 25-piece spindle thematic CD-R free-of-charge.
