Q. I cannot find the serial number of the Flash drive

  • The serial number is at the side of the flash drive. Eg: IBBFXXXXXX or FEBGXXXXXX.

Q. Why is the total capacity of the flash drive showing only 1.9MB when I had purchased a 1GB flash drive?

  • Usually a 100% fully secured partition have been created. To see the full 1GB capacity of your flash drive, login to the secured partition by clicking the Imation Flash login.exe. Once you have login to the secured partition, you will see the roughly 1GB capacity.

Q. I cannot find the Imation Flash Manager in my flash drive.

  1. The default Flash Manager software can be found under the lower right-hand corner of the desktop; near the clock area. This will be there if customer has regularly updated their Win 2000 or XP with the latest patch.

  2. Unfortunately, we notice that the majority of the users do not update their operating system, thus some PC will not see the Flash Manager appearing at the lower right-hand corner of their desktop. For this case, customer can visit our Imation South Asia web-site: "www.imation-southasia.com" ; under "Support & Download" to get the respective software.

Q. How do I resize the secured partition size to a desired capacity after I have created a secured partition?

  • Run the Imation Flash Manager by clicking the Imation Flash Login.exe.
    Click on create partition button.
    Drag the slider all the way to the left side (0MB), which it a public partition, No password is required.
    It will give you a warning asking you if you want to reset the flash drive back to factory setting. All data will be deleted from the flash drive.
    Click OK
    After it completes, you can create the desired secured partition size by clicking on create partition button again.

Q. Can you help me retrieve my password for my secured partition, as I have lost the password?

  • No, we are not able to help you retrieve your lost password.

    To reset the flash drive back to working condition, you can create a public partition, which will reset the flash drive back factory setting. By pulling the slider all the way to the left side (0MB) ie no password is required and. Then click OK & follow the instructions given.

Q. Why is there an error message “Incompatible Device is detected” when I try to run the Imation Flash Login.exe on my office computer?

  • You are running the flash login.exe on an account with non-administrator rights.

    Login as computer administrator on that computer and run the Flash Manager Driver.exe. This driver can be downloaded from our web-site under the Support & Download link. After installing the flash manager driver, you can login as a non-administrator user and run the Imation Flash Login.exe.
